I Went...I Saw...

I went there. I saw things. I experienced much. I met wonderful people. I loved every minute. I came home.

Yes I am alive and well! I wasn’t able to do any posting to my blog while I was away but I took a lot of pictures and I tried to write down what we did every day. I’m not sure how long it will take (because as some of you may know I do not have internet access at my house) but I do intend to share that here.

Thank you again for your investment in my life and this trip. Many people told me before I went that “It changes you and you’ll never be the same.” I believe they meant that in a good way and I hope they are right. I can’t wait to share it with you and hope that you enjoy reading about it. I would also like to thank those of you who prayed. I was comforted with the thought that more people were praying specifically for me at this time than possibly any other time in my life. And God answered the prayers for safety in travel as well as on the trip. I had one delayed flight but thankfully it did not cause me to miss my connecting flight. I had to run… twice... but I made it! J

I met many interesting people in the airports and on my flights not to mention all the wonderful people I met once I got to Kenya. For almost a month I was able to have a glimpse into the life of a missionary family serving God far from country and home and it is an experience I will never forget.

Today my little brother, David, would have turned 24 years old. It's hard to believe it's been almost 10 years now since he went home to be with Jesus. But at the same time it seems like a lifetime ago. I was thinking about it today and what life would be like if that had not happened....and I truly can not imagine it. Welcome Home

Well just one week from right now, I will be aboard a plane somewhere between here and Kenya ! I can't believe that the time has actually come! And boy did it come fast!! No, I am not packed... But the suitcases are here... Waiting... The laundry is being done... And the living room, kitchen and bathrooms are... clean!! How does that help? Well, I always enjoy coming home to a clean house even if I’m just gone a few days. So this will be even better!! When I got home from work last night, I put my key in the lock and walked into my house expecting to find it as I left it that morning: Dark, unvacuumed, pile of work sweaters in the recliner, basket of unfolded clothes on ottoman, mail on the tv tray, and several stray pairs of shoes waiting for me to trip over them. As Promised

What?!? Another post?! So soon? Two days in a row?! I know... it's shocking. But here it is! Just a few photos of the bracelets that we've made so far. They are not all strung together yet with clasps but I think you'll get the idea. Notice the lovely paper clip and the Post-it's from the first photo? (I actually just looked at them to check on how to spell Post it..and they aren't even real Post Its!! They're "Stickies"! Did I get it right yet?) And that this tray is sitting on a stack of papers on my desk at work? Nice right? Very warm and earthy. I like these! Good job Shauna!! We have really enjoyed working on them a lot. I called Shauna a monster yesterday but last night I was the one up until 2! The most acceptable explanation (that I'll go into right now) is that we are both aware that it's only 14 days...14 DAYS!!! that's TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY... until I leave so we would like to get it all done and not be doing
